I became a psychotherapist because I am passionate about helping people live their best lives. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients. I specialize in trauma, and I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

I graduated from West Virginia University, with my masters. I have spent most of my life in West Virginia. I graduated high school in Morgantown. I grew up in a military family and spent most of my childhood on the west coast.

I am committed to guiding my clients towards a path of self resilience, self discovery, and empowerment utilizing EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and a client centered approach.

Embrace the present moment, breathe in peace, and trust in the wisdom of your body. You are strong, resilient, and capable of healing.

Namaste.

Types of therapy offered

Located in Fairmont, WV, licensed in WV and VA, I am a mental health provider dedicated to helping clients transform and feel whole again.

I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

I have also been trained by Yoga International through their IRest Training program in Yoga Nidra.  Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep," is a deep relaxation practice that guides individuals into a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It involves systematic relaxation of the body and mind while maintaining awareness. For individuals with PTSD, Yoga Nidra can be especially helpful as it promotes a deep sense of calm and safety, allowing the nervous system to reset and heal from trauma. By reducing the hyperarousal and emotional reactivity associated with PTSD, Yoga Nidra helps individuals process their trauma in a non-invasive way, offering a gentle yet powerful tool for recovery and resilience.

I offer in-person services in Fairmont, West Virginia and tele health services throughout the entire state of West Virginia and Virginia to adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples.

What is EMDR?

Are you feeling stuck with traditional therapy approaches that don't seem to be working? EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) offers a different, highly effective method for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. Unlike talk therapy, which can take time to unravel deep-seated issues, EMDR taps into the brain's natural healing process to rapidly process and release disturbing memories and emotions. If you're ready to try something more effective and transformative, EMDR could be the solution you've been searching for.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, is a powerful treatment modality. There are no specific diagnoses that exclude someone from benefiting from EMDR.

Rooted in neuroscience and neuropsychology, EMDR is a comprehensive theoretical orientation, and an evidence-based practice supported by extensive research.

Who can benefit from EMDR therapy? Children, teens, and adults can all benefit from EMDR. I offer it in both online and in-person sessions to treat:

  • Trauma/PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Guilt
  • Anger and irritability
  • OCD
  • Performance concerns

Services for Children and Adolescents

Children deserve access to the benefits of EMDR therapy, just like adults. We offer EMDR services for children and adolescents to address anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. EMDR also helps equip children with skills to better navigate their daily lives.

In addition, I offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children who have experienced trauma, including grief and loss, abuse, neglect, foster care placement, sexual abuse, bullying, and more.

TF-CBT is considered the gold standard for treating trauma in children ages 3 to 18.

I also provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a powerful approach that equips parents with tools to manage challenging behaviors in their children while providing children with the support they need to overcome these behaviors.

PCIT is internationally accredited by PCIT International and has been implemented across the globe. I am honored to have been trained by one of the leading researchers and developers of PCIT, Dr. Cheryl McNeil at West Virginia University.

What is Parent Child Interaction Therapy?

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence based therapeutic modality that is proven to be highly effective in helping parents handle challenging behaviors such as defiance, tantrums, impulsivity, and disruptive behavior.

PCIT is a family- centered treatment approach for children ages 2–7 with disruptive behavior and has also been used with abused and at-risk children ages 2–12. It is also an appropriate therapy for all caregivers—

birth parents, adoptive parents, or foster or kin caregivers. During PCIT, parents learn strategies that will enhance the parent-child relationship and promote positive behaviors in children. To achieve this goal, they also interact with their child while simultaneously receiving coaching from the PCIT therapist. Research has shown that, because of PCIT, parents learn more effective parenting techniques, the behavior problems of children decrease, the quality of the parent-child relationship improves, and risk for child maltreatment is reduced.
